ARROGANT, OUT-OF-CONTROL STERLING D.P.W. PRICKS INSIST ON THEIR PROPOSED $33 MILLION ‘GARAGE MAHAL’ BOONDOGGLE. THEY ADMIT NOT EVEN CONSIDERING  MUCH CHEAPER PRE-FAB STEEL BUILDING(S), AND THEY WANT HALF AN ACRE (20,000 SQUARE FEET) OF HEATED INDOOR SPACE FOR THEIR VERY SENSITIVE DIESEL TRUCKS

I watched the 18 September 2025 joint Sterling Finance Committee-Capital Budget Committee-D.P.W. The Finance Committee and Capital Budget Committee proved yet again that they are mostly UTTER BLOVIATING, VACILLATING, TEMPORIZING, POSTURING GASBAG WIMPS, and the Sterling D.P.W. representatives demonstrated that they are ARROGANT, ABSOLUTELY OUT-OF-CONTROL PRICKS OUT TO SCREW STERLING TAXPAYERS WITH THEIR PROPOSED $33 MILLION ‘GARAGE MAHAL’ BOONDOOGLE.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE LOWLIGHTS:

a). The D.P.W.’s proposed ‘Garage Mahal’ Boondoggle is projected to cost $33 Million for a 37,000 square foot building, or $742 per square foot.

b).  Of that 37,000 square feet, 20,000 SQUARE FEET (HALF AN ACRE) ARE DESIGNATED TO BE HEATED SPACE TO HOUSE THE D.P.W.’s VERY SENSITIVE DIESEL TRUCKS.

c).  Forced hot air/hot air blowers is/are not good enough for the D.P.W.’s VERY SENSITIVE DIESEL TRUCKS. THEY MUST HAVE “TUBE RADIANT HEAT” (heating tubes in the concrete floor) ADDING TO THE COST.

d). It appears that the D.P.W. would rather screw Sterling’s taxpayers for HALF AN ACRE OF HEATED SPACE TO HOUSE ITS VERY SENSITIVE DIESEL TRUCKS INSTEAD OF JUST USING ELECTRICAL ENGINE BLOCK HEATERS TO MAKE THE DIESEL TRUCKS EASIER TO START IN WINTER. GEE, THE CITY OF ANCHORAGE, ALASKA, RECOMMENDS ENGINE BLOCK HEATERS AND IT GETS A HELL OF A LOT COLDER THERE THAN IN STERLING—

e). Ya’ think the Sterling D.P.W. PRICKS possess enough common sense and frugality to have stopped by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts D.P.W. facility on Chocksett Road, ALL the other properties with STEEL BUILDINGS along Chocksett Road and Pratts Junction Road, or at James Monroe Wire & Cable just over the line in Lancaster, to determine what type of FAR CHEAPER steel building(s) the D.P.W. could have designed and built instead of their proposed $33 Million ‘Garage Mahal’ Boondoggle? NAH! Steel buildings are too practical, too utilitarian, too prosaic for the Sterling D.P.W.! I mean, why contact steel building suppliers such as those listed below when you can COMPLETELY SCREW Sterling property taxpayers for $33 Million?

When asked at the 18 September 2025 joint meeting if the D.P.W. had considered buying a cheaper pre-fab steel building or buildings instead of insisting on its $33 Million ‘Garage Mahal’ Boondoggle–after D.P.W. reps were asked the very same question during the May 2025 Annual Town Meeting–the D.P.W. mouthpiece said “We haven’t even looked at that.” OF COURSE YOU HAVEN’T, YOU F#CKING ASSHOLE!!!

g). BEND OVER AND PREPARE FOR RAMMING! The D.P.W.’s proposed $33 Million ‘Garage Mahal’ Boondoggle will cost the average Sterling property taxpayer–ACCORDING TO THEM– from $412 to $650 per year for 30 years, the expected duration of the borrowing bond needed for this Boondoggle, because the D.P.W. doesn’t really know what the ultimate borrowing costs/interest rate will be. HOWEVER, LAST YEAR STERLING FINANCE COMMITTEE MEMBER MARK GAUTHIER SAID THAT THIS BOONDOGGLE WOULD CAUSE STERLING PROPERTY TAX RATES TO INCREASE BY 11% FOR THE LIFE OF THAT BOND, NOT THE 5.72% TO 9.04% NOW (CONVENIENTLY) ESTIMATED BY THE STERLING D.P.W. HACKS.

WHAT TO DO AT THE 3 NOVEMBER 2025 STERLING SPECIAL TOWN MEETING:

SHUT THIS SHIT DOWN!!! DON’T VOTE A DIME TOWARD THIS ABOMINATION.
